Use your mouse to look left/right around the office, click buttons to close doors and turn on hall lights, and drag down to open the security monitor. The game drains power constantly - doors use 2 bars each, lights and cameras use 1 bar, and you must survive from midnight to 6 AM without running out of power.
Power drains at 1% every 9.6 seconds normally, but doubles with each device you use - cameras, lights, or doors multiply your usage. Check lights quickly (flash them on/off), only use cameras when needed, and aim to have at least 85% power by 1 AM, 60% by 2 AM. Never leave doors closed longer than necessary.
The jump scares connect to the story - animatronics drag you into empty suits to make you one of them, creating new horror. It's one of few horror games kids can play without trauma, featuring "a thing we can all agree on: animatronic animals are terrifying". The powerlessness and limited resources create genuine tension.
Check any camera every few seconds to stop Foxy (you don't need Pirate Cove specifically), use lights to check for Bonnie/Chica at doors, and close doors only when they're present. Follow an 80/20 rule - spend 80% time listening, 20% looking at cameras. Never stop monitoring completely or Foxy will attack.
Available on Windows, iOS, Android, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. PC requirements: Windows XP/7+, Intel Pentium 4 2GHz, 1GB RAM, 1GB graphics card, 250MB storage space. The game costs around $5 on Steam and runs on very low-end hardware.
Night 1 starts at 0/0/0/0 AI but increases to 0/3/2/2 by 4 AM as Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy gain levels throughout the night. Nights get progressively harder - Night 4 has extremely active Bonnie/Chica, Night 5 is very difficult. Custom Night 20/20/20/20 mode is considered nearly impossible, with Scott Cawthon himself initially unable to beat it.
FNAF 1 requires careful power management, quick reflexes with lights/doors, and constant camera monitoring to prevent Foxy attacks. Master the rhythm of checking lights, flashing cameras, and listening for audio cues to survive all seven nights.
